In Scandinavia, where winters are long and the darkness deep, people are longing for brighter days most of the year. Buildings are designed with large windows to maximize those few hours of daylight. When darkness comes, these windows become large, black elements on the walls of the interior, swallowing indoor light and exposing inside to the world outside.
Accordion Lamp was designed to light up these dark evening windows and while blocking insight. Having an accordion–like construction, the lamp can be adjusted to the width of the window, shelf or other surface it is standing on. The delicate textile lets daylight through and creates a warm and intimate light during dark winter evenings.
